Rita’s ill health

We have the heartbreaking story with Rita’s health, which has so far pulled on the heartstrings and reminded us how amazing the great Barbara Knox is and why we’re so lucky to have her. Putting her back to the centre of the Street is something you’re all going to enjoy.

Eva’s revenge plan

After all the wedding drama, it turns out it’s not so easy for Eva to stop her grand plan as she might have hoped. There are massive repercussions for everyone on the Street, the factory has always been a powerhouse and a major employer and so, when Eva and Adam’s machinations have an impact on everyone who works at Underworld, it will also have an impact on how popular she is with the locals.

Phelan’s hostage drama

The Phelan story is massive – you’ve seen that he’s got a houseguest staying in his cellar… So we’ll be playing out that story over autumn and we’ll be seeing how Phelan deals with that particular problem, and, crucially, whether Andy Carver will ever see the light of day again or not.

Nathan’s court drama

Bethany Platt’s grooming plot was massive earlier in the year, this autumn we’ll see if she makes it to court as Nathan Curtis stands trial. It’s a huge deal for a girl of her age and in her position to face not one but several perpetrators and all their barristers. But we still have Mel to consider – Nathan made sure her brain was well and truly washed. She is on the outside and very keen to make sure that Bethany doesn’t get to court. The question is: will Nathan ever face justice?

Billy gets a backstory

We have a very dark backstory for Billy Mayhew, which will have an impact for another family on the cobbles. That’s going to be big running into Christmas.
