EastEnders bosses have confirmed that Shirley Carter’s little sister Tina is moving into Walford.
Former Holby actress Luisa Bradshaw-White has landed the full time role and will arrive in November.
An official picture of Shirley and Tina together in Walford has been released, suggesting Shirley is very much alive.
Speaking about her new role and confirming she has filmed scenes with Linda Henry, who plays Shirley, Luisa said: “I am so excited to be joining EastEnders to play Tina as she is such a brilliant character to play.
“Linda is an amazing person to work with and the energy between Shirley and Tina is explosive!”
Fans had feared that Shirley had been killed off because she hasn’t been seen since her showdown with Carl White.
They clashed when she confronted him about using Phil Mitchell’s garage to fix his stolen cars.
Shirley’s phone was later seen dumped in a pile of rubbish and Carl hinted to Ian Beale that he had ’sorted’ her out.
But now it seems she could well be alive. However bosses are keeping quiet about exactly what has happened to her, when she will return and how she returns to Walford.
In the meantime fans can expect trouble from Tina.
She’s being billed as an even wilder version of Shirley as is set to cause chaos on the Square.
In a statement Tina is described as “loud, brash and if anyone can lead Shirley astray, it’s Tina.”
A show insider said: “What exactly has happened to Shirley? You won’t find out for a while but it’s brilliant.
“Tina will be a breath of fresh air on the show, she’s mouthy, up for a fight and even more trouble than her sister.
“Luisa is the second signing by Dominic Treadwell-Collins and we’re so excited about what’s coming up.”
