Emmerdale’s Ryan Hawley has admitted that Robert Sugden is going to make another mistake with Rebecca White next week.
The drama kicks off when a concerned Robert tells Rebecca he’s been unable to see Aaron because of some sort of incident at the prison.
When Liv hears that a stressed Robert hasn’t been able to see Aaron, she worries her brother’s been caught with drugs so tells Robert what he’s been doing.
Later, Robert acts casual while visiting Aaron but becomes angry when he lies about the situation, he eventually admits he knows what’s been going on, leaving Aaron crushed.
Robert pleads with him to give up drugs but he says it’s too late and hurts his partner even more by telling him he’s no use to him.
Back in the village Robert swigs on a bottle of whisky and ends up trashing the room in a moment of utter frustration over Aaron.
He texts Rebecca, who’s on a date with Ross Barton, and asks her to come round to the cottage and when she arrives he tries to kiss her but she rejects him.
The next day a hungover Robert regrets his move on Rebecca and begs her not to tell Aaron, but Chas senses something is up and is angry when she questions him and he admits what really happened.
Ryan Hawley, who plays Robert, said: “Robert’s shocked and can’t believe that Aaron hasn’t told him about the drugs. So Robert goes to the prison to confront him and see what Aaron has to say about it.
“You’ll have to wait and see what happens, but Robert leaves the prison feeling betrayed and hurt and wants to offload his frustration to someone.
“So he texts Rebecca who’s been a friend to both him and Aaron. After a drunken rant, he makes a stupid mistake.”
Talking about the incident with Rebecca, Ryan added: “Well I do sympathise with Robert in that he’s been running around doing everything he can for Aaron and Liv.
“It’s a big shock that after everything they’ve been through together, Aaron doesn’t confide in him about the trouble he’s having in prison.
“But I think Robert loves Aaron and he wants to be with him no matter what.”
