Nicole Barber-Lane has announced her decision to leave Hollyoaks after seven years playing Myra McQueen.
And we can exclusively reveal that show boss Bryan Kirkwood is planning a dramatic exit which will see the McQueen matriarch get shot.
In scenes to be screened later in the year Myra will be involved in a sensational showdown with Doctor Browning which ends in her being gunned down.
Bosses are keeping tight-lipped about whether Myra is killed in the shooting and if it is Browning who pulls the trigger.
But they have vowed to give her the send off that she deserves after playing the head of one of the soap’s most iconic families.
Nicole told SoapSquawk: “The job is fantastic, I love playing Myra. Over the last seven years we have had some great adventures with her and the McQueens.
“Now it is time for me to explore some new characters and roles and for me to have some fun with my own family.”
It’s not the first time that Browning tries to kill her.
He will leave her in hospital after brutally attacking her in the florist next week.
