Hollyoaks’ Sienna Blake is going to have her life turned upside down when she discovers she’s got cervical cancer.
In a harrowing new storyline that is going to test actress Anna Passey, the pregnant villager will have to decide whether to have treatment or wait until after her twins are born.
The soap’s bosses have been working closely with Macmillan cancer charity to ensure the sensitive issue is portrayed accurately.
A Hollyoaks source told the Daily Star Sunday: “Sienna’s cancer storyline is going to be one of the biggest of the year. When she finds out that she has the life-threatening disease, her first thoughts are for her unborn babies.
“It’s a cruel twist considering everything she’s been through. Her teenage daughter Nico died during the soap’s Halloween Spooktacular last year. So when she discovered she was pregnant with twins she was delighted to get a second chance at motherhood.”
