Marc Baylis has revealed that he is leaving his role as Coronation street killer Rob Donovan.
The actor has found himself at the forefront of the show after Rob was unveiled as Tina McIntyre’s murderer.
But when he took on the storyline Marc knew that his future on the soap was limited. Now he has confirmed that he is leaving.
While Marc says his character won’t be killed off, he will be leaving at the same time as co-star Chris Gascoyne, who plays Peter Barlow.
So fans will be kept guessing as to which man gets punished for Tina’s murder.
Marc said: “Chris and I are both leaving at the end of the year, around the same time. This is why we can openly talk about it because it doesn’t give anything away.
“It entices everyone a little bit more. We’re trying to keep it as open as possible so it’s fortunate that we are both moving on to pastures new.”
He added: “It will be with a heavy heart that I move on, but it’s an experience that I will treasure forever.”
